My Favorite Brownie Recipe

Lorrie's Luxurious Brownies

Makes about 20 brownies

2 cups of granulated sugar
1 cup of canola oil
4 large eggs
6 tablespoons of good cocoa
2 teaspoons of Folger's Classic Roast instant coffee
2 teaspoons of good vanilla (Sonoma Syrup Co.)
1 1/2  cups of self-rising flour
1 cup of chopped hazelnuts or pecans
Baking Spray (Baker's Joy)
½ cup of  chopped hazelnuts or pecans
(1)13 oz jar of Nutella (found by the peanut butter in the grocery)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Blend sugar, oil, eggs, cocoa, instant coffee and vanilla. Add flour. I like to add the flour in two phases to reduce flour spatter. Add nuts. Pour into a 9x13 inch baking pan sprayed with Baker's Joy or any other baking spray that has flour in it.
Bake for 25-30 minutes. Allow to cool completely. This is very important! Then spread the entire jar of nutella with the back of a big spoon. Sprinkle pecan pieces or chopped hazelnuts on top of the nutella iced brownies . Lightly press nuts into nutella. These are the best brownies that I have ever had. Note: These brownies can last for days and stay fresh if covered with aluminum foil. Enjoy!
