Wine Review: Frank Family Vineyards 2009 Napa Valley Zinfandel

This wine is a deep garnet color. The nose is filled with juicy dark fruit aromas along with spice, white pepper. The palate has those dark fruit flavors of raspberries, plums, along with a bit of earthiness, and white pepper on the finish. The wine is so silky in texture, you just want to reach for another glass. The tannins are smooth, but this wine has nice balance. This wine would pair well with meats off the grill, especially sausages. I'd also pair it with a simple tomato bruschetta http://www.williams-sonoma.com/recipe/fresh-tomato-toasts-bruschetta-di-pomodori.html?cm_src=RECIPESEARCH and rack of lamb glazed  with a balsamic vinegar reduction sauce. This wine is also great to sip alone. This is one of my favorite Zinfandels!   Note: This wine was a sample provided by Frank Family Vineyards. http://www.frankfamilyvineyards.com SRP $36.75
