Wine Review: 2006 Women of the Vine Syrah Napa Valley - Heidi Peterson Barrett, Winemaker

This wine has a deep, dark ruby color. The nose is filled with dark fruit flavors of plum, black cherry and spice. The palate mimics the nose with an addition of earth, toast and pepper. The mouth feel is lush and the wine is perfectly balanced with a nice long finish. This wine is a delight and paired well with a rib eye steak and rosemary roasted fingerling potatoes. This Syrah also paired well with aged cheddar cheese and spicy andouille sausage. I truly enjoyed this wine.  This wine has a SRP of $65.00.  Note: This wine was a sample provided by Women of the Vine Cellars.  http://wotv.invino.com/ref/Lorrie
